Apple of his Eye
When he campaigned for president, Donald Trump said he will end with war in Ukraine, while he was president-elect.
Now, more than a week after taking office, he sees this wasn’t as simple as a phone call.
What does Vladimir Putin want?
For one, Putin hates the fact that the United States votes for a completely different approach to foreign policy every few years.
He feels that the United States is confused, a superpower in decline, and since it is the military that shields Europe proper, this global policeman can’t possibly guard and defend all of the fronts at once.
Russia is a country that is extremely difficult to keep safe. Vast plains make it easy for foreigners to invade and, therefore, for centuries, the Russians have been looking to expand as much as possible to mountainous regions and to open seas.
When Obama did nothing after Assad, the ruthless dictator that was overthrown in Syria, used chemical gas on its citizens, Putin smelled weakness.
Obama said it was a red line and then DIDN’T follow through.

After that, Putin invaded Crimea and began to build his north-south corridor and to feel emboldened.
Stupidly, Biden’s clowns, Blinken and Sullivan, who barely knew the first thing about the real world, shamefully withdrew from Afghanistan and this, as Trump says, showed Putin that there are idiots at the White House and that Obama’s incompetency still reigns.
Now, three years after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it is clear that the world is changing and that President Trump understands that Russia can pose a threat both to Europe, but also to the arctic passageways through Greenland and Alaska and that Russia, as he calls it, is a war machine.
Russia is part of an axis that is forming and, what the past three years have shown us, is that Russians don’t mind the cost of war as much as other countries. Trump has mentioned that Russia lost 60,000,000 soldiers in WW2, as a way of explaining that this war could last for ages, as far as they are concerned.
How will Trump bring this war to an end?
The Art of the Deal is all about leverage and, in the case of Russia, Trump must apply this through his dealings with OPEC and with China.
- China – in exchange for favorable tariffs and other candies, China can lean towards Trump and pressure Putin to take a ceasefire deal.
President Xi can also position himself as an arbiter of peace and raise China’s prestige.
- Saudi Arabia – In order to apply plenty of pressure on Putin’s ability to finance the war, the price of oil must be lower.
Biden, Blinken, Obama and the gang of clowns that occupied the White House previously, thought it was a good idea to drain the petroleum reserves of their own country, leaving America LAST, but Trump is pressuring the Saudis to flood the market with oil, in exchange for investments in big projects on U.S. soil.
Trump is making BRICS members think twice about their loyalty to each other.
It won’t end with a phone call, but I have a good feeling it will get done.
