No Country for Old Men
On July 3rd, my flight from Nice to Israel was canceled. With our bags checked and tickets in hand, we were at the gate. Me and my wife, 6-year-old, twin boys (18 months), and mother were ready to board, but the moment did not come.
Instead, the flight was originally delayed from 9:25 PM to 10 PM, then to 10:15 PM, but by 10:40 PM, the pilot made an announcement on the broadcasting system that one of the tires had an issue.
A few of the other passengers were pensioners vacationing in the French Riviera, and they were gossiping about the young and beautiful blonde pilot that was informing them that the airline was looking for a tire replacement and they would soon update us.
I went to get a sneak peek at the pilot’s face. To my surprise, it was a friend of mine who slept in the tent next to mine in Israel’s fighter pilot school, and I knew he was a real-life maverick.
I waved, and we chatted for a few minutes since he lives very close to me in Tel Aviv.
This pilot is 39 years old and at the top of his game. His cognitive abilities are now as sharp as they’ll ever be, and in today’s Middle East, armies rely on such people, but even the most gifted ace is useless without guided missiles and computing powers that are all reliant on microchips.
WW2 was won by those that had steel and aluminum, which were needed for tanks, bombs, and planes. WW3 will be won by those that have silica materials used for the manufacturing of microchips and computing power.
Those that control microchips control the world.
The United States and China are both fighting for the dominant role in global affairs and world order, and microchips are the lifeline.
